The Best of 2004 |

Another year is upon us and it is the time when we at BuzzJive tell you what we enjoyed most last year. 2004 was a lot of fun. It was cool to go back and tell you what we enjoyed most in 2003, but now it is our second year and we have a whole new list of favorites to choose from. With T-Money's new Xbox, my new PS2, and the addition of the Nintendo DS, we have a lot more things to choose from.
Let's start with all the greatest games we played this year. It is only fitting that we start with the Best Gamecube games since we are both Nintendo fans.
Top Gamecube games of 2004:
1) Metroid Prime 2 - Echos
2) Donkey Konga
3) Pikmin 2
Runner up goes to Paper Mario 2, but T-Money hasn't played it yet and will have to take my word for it.
Last year the Xbox area was GoofyB's alone so T-Money couldn't vote on them. It is good to see we have expanded our horizons so we both can play Xbox Live together.
Top Xbox games of 2004:
1) Halo 2
2) Burnout 3 (GB / T$)
3) Mortal Kombat Deceptions
Goofy B swears by ESPN Football 2K5 also, but T-Money is anti-sports and would only let him call it a runner up.
Now that Goofy B has a PS2 and has figured out how to use the controller (which is ironically similar to the PSone's), he can have his vote counted.
Top PS2 games of 2004:
1) Ratchet and Clank - Up Your Arsenal
2) Katamari Damacy
3) Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (this makes T-Money sad, since he's anti-GTA as well, but he doesn't have a good enough game to substitute it out with)
Now, with the addition of a whole new system, we figured it wouldn't be fair not to mention some of the best handheld titles around. Mario swept the awards this year.
Top Hand Held games of 2004:
1) Mario 64 DS
2) Mario vs. Donkey Kong
3) Mario and Luigi - Superstar Saga
It is hard to break movies up into DVDs and Movies so we will do like last year and just mention the best movies we saw that came out this year even if we only saw them on DVD.
Top Movies of 2004:
1) The Incredibles
2) Big Fish (GB / T$)
3) Harry Potter and some Prisoner Guy (GB / T$)
Goofy B wanted to go with Ray and Ladder 49, but T-Money didn't see either of them and says 50 First Dates is better anyway.
Music is still a sad story, but at least GoofyB actually reviewed some.
Top Music of 2004:
1) Beasties Boys - To the 5 Boroughs
2) Eminem - Encore (although T-Money hasn't even heard it and is just letting Goofy B have his way)
The only other 2004 album from this year that we both listened to was Prodigy - Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned, but it's not good enough to be listed as a "Top" album, so we're ending it with 2.
Every once in a while we find it important to mention something in our other category. Last year it was mostly sodas. This year though, we had one clear winner that was not a soda, but then it really just came down to sodas again. We need to get out more often it seems.

It has been a lot of fun giving you all the skinny for another year. We hope we can bring you bigger and better lists each year. Your comments are always welcome and it is nice to see all the encouragement. After two years of this, we figured someone would start sending us free demos or something. We have a decent following for a couple of slackers like ourselves. Maybe that is something we can work on next year.
It was also a great year for us to make some new friends. We've gotta give some recognition to our top 3 new guest reviewers - in reverse alphabetical order:
1) Unkwon (his Smart Joy Frag is tearing up the charts)
2) The WiseGuy (who actually gave us our 100th Guest Review!!)
3) Felix Blacke (who spells Led Zeppelin wrong, but it Google's well - ha)
